The Oyo State Government has announced the passing of Engineer Sunday Makinde, the elder brother of the State Governor, His Excellency Seyi Makinde. Engineer Makinde’s demise was confirmed by family members on Friday, January 24th, 2025.

 

Hon. Chief (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji (OTOPE), Director-General of the Oyo State Liaison Office for Abuja and Lagos, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to Governor Makinde and the bereaved family.

 

“Engineer Sunday Makinde’s passing leaves a gaping hole in our lives, and his memories will be cherished forever,” Hon. Oladimeji said. “We celebrate his life, his achievements, and the profound impact he had on our community.”

 

In a statement made available to newsmen, Hon. Oladimeji emphasized the importance of honoring Engineer Makinde’s legacy. “As we mourn his demise, we must also reflect on his selfless service, his dedication to our state, and his unwavering commitment to excellence.”

 

Hon. Oladimeji assured the Governor and the family of his support during this difficult time, saying, “May the outpouring of love and sympathy from across the state bring you comfort and solace. We stand with you, now and always.”
