Fun, Laughter, Love Rent The Air As Egbeda LG First Lady Host Children In Style To Mark Children’s Day

The Egbeda Local Government Area marked Children’s Day 2025 with great enthusiasm, as the wife of the Executive Chairman, Alhaja Monsurat Abiola Sanda, hosted a joyous celebration for children from across the local government.

The event featured an array of fun activities, including bouncing castles, slide castles, trampolines, and boat rides, bringing smiles to the faces of the children in attendance. Alhaja Sanda described the children as “precious gifts of God” who deserve proper care and welfare packages.

In her address, the chairperson emphasized the importance of prioritizing children’s welfare, education, and well-being. She reaffirmed her commitment to promoting children’s rights and interests through advocacy, education, and community engagement, urging parents to ensure a brighter future for their children.

Alhaja Sanda also commended the wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, for her tireless campaigns against child abuse, rape, and female genital mutilation. She advised parents to create time for their children and give them attention, citing her experience as a medical personnel where she has seen cases of sexual abuse of teenagers due to parental laxity.

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, represented by his Deputy, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, congratulated the children and urged them to remain hopeful and steadfast for a brighter future. He expressed gratitude to parents, teachers, and guardians who nurture and support children to realize their potential.

The Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Dr. Mrs. Monsurat Ayobami Alaga, admonished the children to remain focused on their studies and shun any act that could jeopardize their future.

The celebration was attended by dignitaries, including political office holders, HODs, management and staff of Egbeda LG, parents, and teachers.
