Leadership is not just about holding a position; it is about taking responsibility for the welfare of the people. Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in Oyo State has been a game-changer, particularly when it comes to recruitment and Job creation. Governor Makinde has proven himself to be more than just a leader, he is a father figure who genuinely cares for the growth and prosperity of his people. His administration under Omituntun 2.0 has been a testament to his commitment to his campaign promise of Economic Expansion through adequate welfare and human capital development, with the recruitment of over 30,000 additional workers into the state’s workforce and payment of #80,000 minimum wage with effect from January 2025.

Within just two years of Omituntun 2.0, Governor Makinde has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to reducing unemployment and improving service delivery across various sectors in Oyo State. His administration has successfully carried out massive recruitment into the following:

Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) – Strengthening road safety and traffic management to ensure smooth transportation across the state.

Amotekun Corps – Enhancing community security and complementing other security agencies in protecting lives and property.

Hospital Management Board – Deploying medical personnel into all state hospitals to improve healthcare services.

State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) – Recruiting teachers into all primary schools across the state to enhance foundational education.

Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) – Strengthening secondary education by deploying teachers across all zones in the state.

Civil Service Commission – Expanding the workforce in ministries and agencies, ensuring efficiency in governance.

Primary Health Board – Reinforcing primary healthcare centers (PHCs) across the state to provide quality health services at the grassroots level.

Local Government Commission – Upgrading long-serving ad-hoc workers into permanent positions, recognizing their dedication and service.

This large-scale recruitment drive is not just about numbers; it is about the people. Thousands of families now have a stable source of income, and essential services in the state have improved significantly.

A father ensures that his children are secure, well-educated, and provided for. Governor Makinde has done exactly that for Oyo State. By prioritizing job creation, he has empowered the youth, strengthened families, and laid a solid foundation for sustainable development. His administration has focused on merit-based employment, ensuring that only qualified individuals are placed in critical sectors, thereby improving the overall performance of the state workforce.

Governor Makinde’s policies have created opportunities for thousands of Oyo residents, proving that governance is not just about policies but about people.

His leadership has been inclusive, progressive, and impactful. The ripple effect of this massive employment initiative will be felt for generations to come, as it has boosted the economy, reduced poverty, and enhanced public services.

Governor Seyi Makinde has set a standard for responsible and people-centered governance. His ability to provide jobs, improve public services, and secure the state shows that he is truly a father to all.

As Omituntun 2.0 continues, Oyo State can only expect greater things under his leadership. Indeed, Makinde is truly a father; one who leads with vision, compassion, and action.
