FATHER’S DAY 2026: OYO COMMISSIONER; BALOGUN CELEBRATES FATHERS AS THE BEDROCK OF STRONG FAMILIES AND A STABLE SOCIETY*

The Commissioner Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in Oyo State, Hon. Toyin Balogun, has extended warm felicitations to fathers across Oyo State and beyond on the occasion of Father’s Day 2026,utilizing the following exceptional Fathers and Father Figures as a point of contact; *Her father, Her late husband, His Excellency and our amiable Governorship candidate* as a point of contact to all responsible fathers and father figures, celebrating their invaluable contributions to family development and societal progress.

In a goodwill message issued on the occasion, Hon. Toyin Balogun described fatherhood as one of the most sacred and selfless institutions in human society, noting that the sacrifices of fathers — seen and unseen — remain the invisible scaffolding upon which families, communities, and nations are built.

“To every responsible Father/Father Figure in our State and beyond, I say today that your labour is not in vain,” she stated further, “The sleepless nights, the quiet sacrifices, the years of going without so that your families can have basic needs/creature comforts,the steady hands that have supported your wives & significant others to become better versions of themselves and guided your children through life’s uncertainties — these are the true investments in the future of Oyo State.”

The Honorable Commissioner emphasized that fathers play a critical role not only in providing for their families but also in shaping values, instilling discipline, nurturing dreams,projecting & instilling a sense of stability and serving as pillars of support and strength in times of challenges and turmoil

According to her, a society that honours and supports responsible fatherhood is one that lays a solid foundation for sustainable growth,societal stability, peace,security and prosperity.

Hon. Balogun also commended fathers who continue to uphold integrity, responsibility, and dedication despite prevailing economic and social challenges, describing them as unsung heroes whose efforts deserve recognition and appreciation.

“As we celebrate another Father’s Day today, let us remember that the impact of a good father extends beyond his immediate family. Through his character, wisdom, and commitment, he contributes to building a stronger community and a better society for all,” she added.

She further urged fathers to remain steadfast in their responsibilities while encouraging younger generations to embrace the virtues of hard work, honesty, compassion, and service to humanity

Hon. Toyin Balogun concluded by wishing all fathers a joyful Father’s Day celebration, praying for good health, strength, divine guidance/wisdom, and continued fulfillment in their noble role as custodians/ protectors of the family unit and nation-builders.
