A delegation of immediate past local government secretaries from across Oyo State on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government. The visit, which took place at the council’s headquarters in Iyana Offa, celebrated Hon. Kamorudeen’s remarkable journey from serving as Secretary to Lagelu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the immediate past administration to his current role as a trailblazing local government chairman.

The delegation, comprising seasoned administrators who had served as secretaries in various local governments and LCDAs across Oyo State, expressed their admiration for Hon. Kamorudeen’s dedication, leadership, and exemplary service. The visit underscored the deep sense of unity among the former secretaries, who hailed their colleague’s elevation as a testament to hard work, competence, and the trust reposed in him by the people of Lagelu and the Oyo State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Ibrahim Taiwo, former House of Assembly member, lauded Hon. Kamorudeen for his unwavering commitment to grassroots development. “We are here to celebrate one of our own, a man who has distinguished himself as a diligent public servant and as a visionary leader,” Hon. Taiwo said. “Your tenure as Secretary to Lagelu North was marked by integrity and innovation, and we have no doubt that you will bring the same passion to your new role as Executive Chairman.”

The courtesy visit, which was filled with nostalgic reflections and shared aspirations, also served as an opportunity for the former secretaries to offer their support and share insights from their own experiences in local governance.

In his response, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen expressed profound gratitude for the visit, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and mentorship in making good impact in the society. “Your presence here today is not just an honor but a reminder of the collective responsibility we share to uplift our communities,” he said. “Your wealth of experience as former secretaries will be invaluable as we work to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Lagelu”.

The visit concluded with a tour of the council secretariat, where the former secretaries engaged in discussions on strategies to enhance grassroots governance. They pledged their continued support to Hon. Kamorudeen’s administration, expressing confidence that his leadership would elevate Lagelu Local Government to new heights.
