The Executive Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Muritala Abiodun Oyewumi, popularly known as Natural, on Thursday attended the general meeting of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Iwajowa Local Government.
The meeting, held at Shabiganna Palace Square, Oja Oba, Iganna, brought together party leaders, elders, political aspirants and members from across the 10 wards of the local government to deliberate on the party’s affairs, activities and political direction in the area.
The major highlight of the gathering was the defection of Hon. Shittu Wasiu Olorunsetemi, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Iwajowa State Constituency seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, who joined the APM alongside a large number of his supporters.
His defection attracted attention at the meeting, as party members and stakeholders witnessed his formal entry, alongside his followers, into the APM fold.
The meeting also provided a platform for party stakeholders across the 10 wards to exchange views, strengthen internal engagement and deliberate on issues relating to the party’s activities and political direction in Iwajowa Local Government.
Hon. Oyewumi’s attendance formed part of the gathering, which brought together party members and stakeholders from different parts of the local government.
The meeting further provided an opportunity for members to discuss the party’s affairs and explore ways to sustain engagement among stakeholders across the 10 wards.
