Farmers, stakeholders, and residents across Oyo State exhibited their farm products at the Grand finale of 2025 World Food Day celebration held at the open ground of House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan.

The theme for the year 2025 celebration is “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.” was a clarion call for collective action to address pressing challenges facing food system.

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, who was represented by the Super for Agriculture, Hon. Job Tayewo Olusola alongside with the members of his Executive cabinet, was present at the event to celebrate and give solidarity to Agriculture and Natural Resources department and farmers from the council area that came to show case and exhibit their farm products.

In his remarks, the Council Boss commended the farmers for their resilience, hard work and dedication, especially in the face of numerous challenges. He acknowledged their vital role in sustaining food supply and ensuring food security within the state and the nation at large.

Hon Sanda reaffirmed his administration’s continued support for farmers through local empowerment programmes, provision of farming inputs, and access to agricultural resources aimed at boosting productivity.

Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources and Farmers from Egbeda Local Government showcased a rich variety of food and cash crops, demonstrating the agricultural potential of the local government.

The event was well graced by leader of the legislative house, Egbeda local government, Hon Olusola Olakanmi, Director of Agric, Pastor Adepoju Samuel, Sanitarian Victoria Baale, Mr. Abiola Adebayo, Alhaji Hammed, Mr. Adeoyega, Mrs. Salawu and farmers.
