The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-west Local Government , Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has extended his warmest greetings and congratulations to Christians worldwide on this year’s Easter celebrations with a charge to remember the values of love, forgiveness and compassion that Easter embodies.
The words of admonition was contained in his Easter celebrations’ message to the people of his local government and environs.
According to the Council Boss,Easter celebrations signified the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ who was nailed to the cross after being betrayed by his followers.The Chairman reiterated that Jesus Christ during his life time preached about forgiveness, tolerance, happiness, perseverance, charity,love and peace,hence, the need to emulate these traits so as to live a fulfilled life as good christains. He said “despite being betrayed by few of His disciples, Jesus Christ still appealed to God on their behalf for forgiveness.To err is human,to forgive is divine”.
Alh Adepoju commended Christian faithfuls for their dedication to their faith in the last forty days of fasting and urged them to continue praying for peace, progress, and prosperity in the local government, the State and Nigeria as a whole. He enjoined all and sundry to strive in building a society that is more united, peaceful, and prosperous for all to live.
In the same vein, the Executive Chairman has likened the leadership
styles of His Excellency, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde in running the affairs of the state to the personified traits of the Lord Jesus Christ during his life time. He Congratulated His Excellency and his family on the Easter celebrations and urged him not to relent in his humanitarian services to the citizenry.
The Executive Chairman prayed that the joyous occasion brings renewal, hope and peace to Ibadan North West, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.
Alh Adepoju wishes all Political functionaries, Party stakeholders, Traditional chiefs, management, staff and entire residents of Ibadan North West Local Government happy Easter celebrations filled with Joy and happiness.
