As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the executive chairman of Ibadan Northeast local government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has urged Christians, especially from his council area, to emulate Jesus Christ by making sacrifices that will advance the course of development.

Easter is a significant period in the lives of Christians as it is essentially the foundation upon which the Christian religion is built. It is also one of the most solemn periods of worship in Christendom”.

In his Easter message, Akintayo, the council chairman called on the Christians and people of Ibadan Northeast local government to, in the spirit of Easter, emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by living in love and promoting peace and unity.

Akintayo noted that the Easter celebration signals an assurance of a new beginning, not only for Christians but for all individuals.

He said Easter is a period of fresh beginning, forgiveness, love, and friendship and urged the privileged to reach out to the less privileged as everyone works to deepen the culture of true Christianity.

While wishing the Christians a Happy Easter celebration, Akintayo assured residents of the local government of his continued selfless service.
