Oyo former commissioner for works and transports, Hon. Professor Abdulrahman Raphael Afonja (PARA), has urged the people of the State to use the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ to show love to one another and promote unity among all residents.
This was contained in a statement personally signed by him and made available to newsmen in Ogbomoso on Sunday.
According to the statement, Easter serves as a reminder of the strength of faith, redemption, and divine love.
He added that Easter also reminds us of the human spirit’s tenacity in overcoming life’s seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
The Ogbomoso born PDP member however urged Christians to keep in mind that the biblical emphasis on love is extremely relevant to the peaceful coexistence of individuals and the advancement of society.
He exhorted them to exhibit more patriotic dedication to the development of Oyo State and to love one another rather than hate.
Afonja concluded by encouraging everyone to learn from the lessons of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, emphasizing the importance of commitment, dedication, selflessness, focus, and discipline in the face of adversity.
