The atmosphere at Oja Seriki Market in Ona-Ara Local Government Area was filled with gratitude and celebration on Saturday, October 25, 2025, as Hon. Dr. Temitope Oladimeji (OTOPE) officially commissioned a new public toilet facility built through the OTOPE Foundation.

The project represents more than just bricks and mortar — it symbolizes care, dignity, and leadership deeply rooted in community needs. Speaking at the event, Dr. Oladimeji announced that 17 more markets across Ona-Ara Local Government are set to benefit from the ongoing OTOPE Foundation Public Toilet Project, a gesture aimed at improving public hygiene and health conditions within local markets.

Prominent personalities in the Ona-Ara PDP graced the occasion, including the Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Dr. Kolapo Temitope-GLORIOUS; the Ona-Ara PDP Chairman, Alfa Kehinde Adeyemo; Governor Seyi Makinde’s Aide and Oyo State PDP Financial Secretary, Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi; as well as several government functionaries and community leaders who all applauded Dr. Oladimeji’s consistent contributions to grassroots development.

For traders and residents, this initiative is a welcome relief. It tackles one of the daily challenges faced by market users and stands as a reminder that thoughtful leadership listens to the people and acts in their interest.

This latest intervention adds to the long list of humanitarian efforts Dr. Oladimeji has embarked upon since 2022. Through the OTOPE Foundation, he has consistently demonstrated that compassion and service are the true essence of representation. His previous programmes include financial support for widows, retirees, and the elderly; vocational training and empowerment for youths; and medical outreaches that have provided free health care to many.

He has equally reached transport workers through free fuel palliatives for commercial Micra, Okada, and bus operators; brightened communities with solar-powered streetlights; and supported education through the distribution of exercise books, free NECO and JAMB registrations, and tutorial sessions for students from less-privileged backgrounds.

By venturing into infrastructure development, Dr. Oladimeji is complementing the people-oriented vision of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, ensuring that residents of Egbeda and Ona-Ara enjoy better living standards.

For the people of Oja Seriki Market, this commissioning is more than a project launch — it is a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of leadership driven by empathy, service, and a genuine desire to make life better for others.

As one trader joyfully expressed, “This project shows that OTOPE truly cares about us. He listens, and he delivers.”

Indeed, Dr. Temitope Oladimeji continues to prove that when leadership is rooted in love for the people, every community can shine a little brighter.
