Ona Ara Local Government has taken another bold stride in grassroots development and cultural preservation as the Executive Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, officially commissioned the Ona Ara Local Government Traditional Council Hall, an ultra-modern edifice named in honour of the revered Balogun of Ibadanland.

The historic ceremony, celebrated with rich cultural displays and grandeur, attracted an impressive gathering of royal fathers, political leaders, and community stakeholders. Dignitaries in attendance included the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Ajibola Abimbola; Chairman of Ona Ara Traditional Council and Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Kolawole Adegbola; former President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes and renowned Ibadan leader, Chief Bayo Oyero; President of the Ona Ara Development Forum (ODF), Alhaji Kola Bolomope; and the Okanlomo Oodua and Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, whose pivotal role in the delivery of the project was widely acknowledged.

The council hall stands as a legacy project, originally envisioned and its foundation laid during the reign of Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola. His foresight for a befitting structure for the Traditional Council has now been successfully brought to life.

He disclosed that the construction of the hall was fully undertaken by Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, describing the contribution as a remarkable commitment to community advancement and the strengthening of traditional institutions.

Also speaking, Chief Bayo Oyero and Alhaji Kola Bolomope applauded the Chairman’s people-centered leadership approach, noting his administration’s consistent track record of impactful and sustainable projects across Ona Ara. They congratulated the Traditional Council on what they described as a landmark achievement.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Council leadership, the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Kamarudeen Adebowale, expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the successful completion of the project. He praised Dr. GLORIOUS for his visionary leadership and dedication to advancing the traditional institution, while also acknowledging the support of other royal fathers across Ona Ara.

In his address, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS paid glowing tribute to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja and the royal fathers for their continuous support and guidance. He gave special recognition to Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, describing him as a dependable pillar whose contributions have significantly enhanced governance and accelerated development in Ona Ara Local Government.

The Chairman emphasized that the newly commissioned hall will serve as a vital hub for cultural administration, conflict resolution, and community engagement, further reinforcing the indispensable role of traditional institutions in grassroots governance.

Other dignitaries present included Special Assistants to the Governor, Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi and Hon. Taiwo Akeem Oke; Chief Waheed Ajao Adurodekun; Leader of the House, Hon. Abolade Yerima; Chief of Staff, Hon. Isiaka Arinola; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Sunmonu; alongside Directors, Supervisory Councilors, and Special Assistants.
