About Mogaji Obitade

Dr. Obitade Sunday Obimakinde is a distinguished Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with over two decades of experience in the field. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the University of Ibadan, where he also underwent his residency training. He attended Ibadan City Academy for his secondary education and Command Children School, Kaduna, for his primary education.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Obimakinde held various roles, including Honorary Consultant, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital; Chief Resident, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University College Hospital, Ibadan; and President, Association of Resident Doctors, University College Hospital, Ibadan. He also served as the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association and Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Ekiti State.

Dr. Obimakinde’s academic achievements are impressive. He was the best student in Part 1 Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) examination, Part II BDS (Pathology and Pharmacology), and Part III final BDS examination at the University of Ibadan. He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCDS) and has published numerous papers in reputable journals, both locally and internationally.

Dr. Obimakinde’s research interests include oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental implantology, and cleft lip and palate. He has presented papers at various conferences, including the Annual Conference of the Nigerian Medical Association and the Biennial Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of several professional associations, including the Nigerian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Nigerian Dental Association.

He continues to contribute to the advancement of his field through his research, teaching, and clinical practice.
