Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social Inclusion, Hon. Toyin Balogun, Receives Courtesy Visit and Christmas Celebration from Children of Bosco Home For Boys

The management, staff, and children of Bosco Child Protection Centre; an Orphanage Home for boys run by the Salesians of St John Bosco; an arm of the Catholic Church paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. (Mrs.) Toyin Balogun, to appreciate the efforts of the Oyo State Government, through her Ministry in ensuring that every child in Oyo State & particularly the children of Bosco Home For Boys are protected and cared for.

A major highlight of the visit was a musical band performance by the boys, who entertained the Honourable Commissioner and her staff with beautiful Christmas songs and demonstration of dexterity by the children on different musical instruments and the rendition of unique clapping sessions for the Honorable Commissioner

The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration, reflecting the true spirit of the season and reinforcing the shared commitment to child protection and inclusion across the state.

The Honorable Commissioner in her response reiterated the love and commitment of both His Excellency, Her Excellency and her ministry for the welfare and protection of the children of Oyo State

She stated that in line with the provisions of the Child Rights Law of Oyo State, every single child in Oyo State from a day old to just under 18 years are her constitutional responsibility and her children, a responsibility she as the Commissioner for Women holds in trust for the Governor of the State

She stated that in keeping with his commitment to the health and welfare of the children Oyo State,about 5,000 children have been signed onto Free Health Insurance packages

Hon( Mrs) Toyin Balogun also stated further that in the Fiscal year 2026 ahead the State Government through her ministry will ensure that even more than ever before,predators who prey on our children through Sexual & Gender Based Violence or any form of abuse will be made to bear the fullest and most severe brunt of the law

While appreciating Reverend father Linus; the Director of the Home and the other Social Workers and carers who take care of the children on a daily basis, she prayed that their labour of love would not go unrewarded and that the Almighty would recompense them 100 fold for the quality of care they avail these precious children

She then affirmed that more policies, interventions and programs like a robust Oyo State Child Protection Policy ,Oyo State Children’s Parliament, Back To School Program etc will be resuscitated with the support of His Excellency, the Commissioner for Justice & Attorney General of the State & other requisite Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government for the benefit of her children( the children of Oyo State)

She also prayed the heartfelt prayers of a mother for all the children to prosper and excel in every area of endeavour

The children left at the end of the visit excited and motivated that truly they can become better versions of themselves because they have a father and mothers I the state who are committed to their welfare
.also on ground supporting the Honorable Commissioner as she played host to her children were the *PS Dr Ibitoye, Director Chikd Welfare Mr Ojerinde, Director Women Programs; Mr Ogunjimi other ministry staff, Hon Kemi Bello National Ex Officio PDP,Hon Oshoniyi former Executive Chairman Ibadan North LG, Hon Steven Olaniyi ; Vice Chairman Ibadan North LG, Female Councillors from Atiba,Egbeda, Afijio,North West and Female Supervisory Councillors from Ibadan North, Egbeda, North West,Saki local governments,the Special Assistant on Women Affairs to Hon Ibarapa Kan Alhaja Shukurat and a former Woman Leader from Kajola Local Government; Alhaja Sikirat Adebayo*
