Countdown Begins as Ibadan Prepares to Host Davido’s Historic 5ive Concert

The city of Ibadan is buzzing with excitement as preparations intensify for the highly anticipated Davido 5ive Concert scheduled for Sunday, 9th November 2025. The mega music event is being hosted by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, through the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, chaired by Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo.

With over 20,000 attendees expected, the event is set to be one of the largest entertainment shows in the history of the ancient city. The concert, part of Davido’s global 5ive Tour, will feature electrifying performances by the multi-award-winning Afrobeats superstar, who’s expected to thrill fans with hits like Dami Duro, Feel, Unavailable, and Timeless.

In a bid to showcase and uplift local talent, Davido will be sharing the stage with some of Ibadan’s finest rising stars — including Keanzo, Fabulous Pizzy, Dele Omo Woli, and Sade Blaq — all of whom have been building momentum online ahead of the big day.

The concert promises a full-throttle entertainment experience complete with live music, energetic dance, hype sessions, and dazzling lights. Fans from across the Southwest and beyond — including Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, and Ondo — are already making plans to be part of the momentous occasion.

As excitement builds, Ibadan’s nightlife and hospitality scene are preparing to welcome the surge of visitors. Hotels in highbrow areas such as Bodija, Jericho, and Ring Road have reported a spike in bookings, while vendors and event promoters are gearing up for a bustling weekend.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Tony Awobode (popularly known as Don Tee), reiterated the commitment of the committee and the Oyo State Government to promote homegrown talent and position Oyo State as a major entertainment hub in Nigeria.

He also noted that the event is part of broader efforts by the State Government to advance youth development and create global opportunities for local creatives.
