As Nigeria marks Children’s Day on May 27, Kehinde Giwa, an aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives representing Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest Federal Constituency, joined thousands of families in celebrating the nation’s future: children.

Kehinde Giwa in a commemoration statement stated that
“Children are the hope and future of our great nation. It is our duty to nurture, protect, and empower them with the tools they need to succeed. Today is not just about celebration; it’s about commitment.”

In his address, he further by commending the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration for its sustained commitment to free education and free healthcare for children in Oyo State. He described these policies as “bold and people-centered,” adding that they have significantly improved the lives of children and families across the state.


“Governor Makinde has set a strong foundation through free education and accessible healthcare,” Giwa said. “As a representative of the people, I intend to build on this progress by ensuring even greater access to quality education, digital literacy, and welfare programs that empower our children to thrive in a fast-changing world.”

He promised that the people would give him the opportunity, his legislative agenda will prioritize increased budgetary allocation for child development, creation of child-friendly community centers, and support for teachers and health workers who serve in schools and clinics.
