A powerful and emotionally charged special prayer session was held at the Agodi Gate Praying Ground, popularly known as Eid Gate, Ibadan, for the safe rescue of abducted school children and teachers from Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The spiritual gathering was convened under the leadership of the League of Imams and Alfas of Oyo State, led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, AbdulGaniy Abubakr Agbotomokekere, bringing together Islamic scholars, clerics, and faithful from across the state in a unified call for divine intervention.
The central focus of the gathering was continuous and heartfelt prayers for the immediate and unconditional release of the abducted school children and their teachers in Orire LGA.

For several hours, the Eid Gate Praying Ground echoed with Qur’anic recitations and deep supplications (dua), as worshippers collectively appealed to Almighty Allah for mercy, protection, and deliverance.
The special prayers emphasized:
•Safe and immediate release of all abducted school children and teachers
•Protection of the victims from harm, fear, and psychological trauma
•Frustration and failure of the plans of the abductors
•Strength, patience, and comfort for affected families
•Restoration of peace and security in Orire LGA and Oyo State at large
The atmosphere was solemn, with many worshippers visibly emotional as prayers intensified for the return of the victims.
Prominent Islamic scholars, including Dr. Bahri Adetunji and Sheikh Alhaji Muhydeen Onihantu, were actively involved in the prayer session.
Dr. Bahri Adetunji urged the faithful not to relent in supplication, stressing that consistent prayers remain a spiritual duty in moments of distress and uncertainty.
Alhaji Muhydeen Onihantu described the incident as deeply painful and called for collective responsibility in safeguarding schools and children, especially in vulnerable rural areas.
They both emphasized that while security agencies continue their efforts, divine intervention remains essential for complete resolution.
The gathering also included special prayers for the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, his administration, and all security operatives involved in rescue efforts.
Participants prayed for wisdom, strength, and success for leaders, while asking for lasting peace, stability, and protection across Oyo State.
The Agodi Gate Praying Ground (Eid Gate) was transformed into a symbol of unity, hope, and collective faith as Muslims across different communities gathered to stand in solidarity with the families of the abducted victims.
The League of Imams and Alfas reaffirmed its commitment to sustained prayers until every abducted child and teacher is safely returned.
They also called on citizens to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and continue supporting ongoing rescue operations through prayers and cooperation.
The special prayer session ended with renewed faith and emotional supplications, as worshippers raised their hands in hope for divine mercy and swift rescue.
The clerics concluded with a message of reassurance:
“No trial is beyond the mercy of Allah, and every oppressed soul will find deliverance in His time.”
The community continues to pray earnestly for the safe return of the abducted school children and teachers, while awaiting positive developments from authorities and security agencies.
