In a major move to sustain grassroots progress, Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, the Oyo CSDA Chairman, Alh. Abideen Adeaga, and other critical stakeholders of Lagelu, including Dr. Babatunde Obideji and Engr. Ajayi Samson, formally met with the leadership of the Lagelu Community Development Initiative (LCDI).
The meeting marked a formal alignment of the stakeholders with the development-driven community group. The Lagelu Community Development Initiative, a platform dedicated to the growth and holistic development of communities across Lagelu, received firm assurances of support from the gathering of government functionaries and community leaders.
During the engagement, the stakeholders pledged their full backing for the Initiative’s programmes and vision. They emphasised the need for sustained collaboration between elected representatives, professionals, and organised community groups to accelerate public goods delivery, economic empowerment, and social cohesion in Lagelu LGA.
The LCDI, for its part, commended the Lagelu Local Government and the Oyo State Government for the remarkable developmental strides recorded around the Akobo/Olorunda axis. The group affirmed that the axis is growing at an unprecedented pace, citing the transformative impact of road infrastructure projects and urban expansion that have significantly enhanced connectivity, commerce, and the overall quality of life in the area.

In their remarks, Hon. Kamorudeen and the Oyo CSDA boss, Alh. Adeaga described the LCDI as a timely and purposeful platform whose objectives align with the broader aspiration of transforming Lagelu into a model of inclusive local development. The pledge of support, they noted, was not merely ceremonial but a commitment to work hand-in-hand with the Initiative in mobilising resources, ideas, and community participation for tangible results.
