The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has re-elected Chief Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole as its President General for another term following a keenly contested election held at Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo, on Friday.

Ajewole secured 86 votes to retain his position, while his opponent, Samson Taiwo, garnered 24 votes.

In other positions contested, Muinat Olowookere emerged as Chief Whip with 81 votes, defeating Adebola Awotoye who polled 31 votes. The position of Internal Auditor went unopposed to Oyewale Oyerinde, who received 112 votes.

Folasade Olayiwola clinched the role of Social Secretary with 81 votes against Temitope Awotunde’s 29 votes, while Akinsola Ige was elected Legal Adviser with 81 votes, beating Akinsumbo Akande who scored 30 votes.

Kola Olomide emerged as Publicity Secretary with 76 votes, ahead of Paul Akano who polled 35 votes. For the post of 2nd Assistant Secretary General, Sulemon Iyanda Raufu polled 85 votes, defeating Tunde Oladimeji (23 votes) and Olukunmi Ojedele (3 votes).

Ismail Kunle Shodeinde emerged as 1st Assistant Secretary General with 87 votes, defeating Ismail Kayode Salawu who secured 24 votes.

In the race for Financial Secretary, Oyasogo Olumuyiwa scored 89 votes to defeat Bamidele Olabiyi who polled 23 votes, while Caleb Akande emerged as Treasurer with 84 votes against Gbadamosi Bamidele’s 28.

Adetokunbo Ayobami Subair was elected Secretary General with a landslide
