The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has appointed and formally inaugurated over 100 Special Assistants to strengthen grassroots administration and enhance inclusive governance across the local government.

The inauguration, which took place during a strategic meeting with the newly appointed aides, marks a significant step in expanding the administrative structure to ensure effective service delivery at the ward level.
Addressing the appointees, Dr. GLORIOUS disclosed that the Special Assistants were carefully drawn from all wards through recommendations by local government political functionaries (Councilors, Supervisory Councilors and some of Special Assistants). He explained that the aides would work closely with their respective councilors and other appointees to drive policies and programs directly within their communities.

According to the Chairman, the initiative is designed to replicate and sustain the governance model of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, particularly in fostering party stability and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.

“This appointment is a deliberate effort to deepen inclusiveness, empower our people, and strengthen our political structure at the ward level. We are committed to ensuring that governance is not distant from the people but actively felt within every community,” he stated.

Dr. GLORIOUS further announced that the payment of stipends to the newly appointed Special Assistants would commence from April, underscoring the administration’s commitment to their welfare and motivation.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Comrade Fatai Aderibigbe from Ward 10 expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman for his inclusive approach to governance. He noted that the appointments reflect a leadership style that prioritizes participation and empowerment.
Comrade Aderibigbe also called on party leaders and stakeholders to support the continuity of Dr. GLORIOUS’ administration, emphasizing that sustained leadership would further consolidate the gains of inclusive governance in Ona Ara Local Government.

The event was attended by key government functionaries, including the Chief of Staff, Hon. Isiaka Arinola; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Sunmonu; Supervisory Councilors; and other political stakeholders.
