In fulfillment of the promise made during the last Igboora Twins Festival, the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) visited Ibarapa Central Local Government on a strategic mission to inspect the proposed site for the establishment of a dedicated Twins Radio Station in Igboora, the town globally renowned for its high rate of twin births.

The inspection team from BCOS was warmly received by the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Yemi Atilola who stood in on behalf of Hon. Olusola Adeleke, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government.

In a statement made available by his personal assistant Azeez Sodiq Adesina while addressing the delegation, Hon. Atilola conveyed the heartfelt appreciation of Hon. Adeleke to His Excellency, Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for his responsive leadership and steadfast support for community-centered development across the state. He noted that the proposed radio station would not only spotlight the uniqueness of Igboora’s heritage but also promote cultural tourism and strengthen media presence within the region.

Hon. Atilola emphasized that the radio station project is a cherished dream for the good people of Igboora and reflects the collective desire of the community to preserve and promote their extraordinary identity. He assured the BCOS team of the local administration’s readiness to provide necessary support towards a smooth execution of the project.

He described the governor as a transformative leader whose dedication to inclusivity continues to bring lasting impact across all zones of Oyo State.

The BCOS delegation expressed satisfaction with the location and pledged to take necessary steps to facilitate the realization of the project in line with the governor’s vision for equitable media access and cultural preservation.

The visit marks another important step in celebrating Igboora’s global identity as the “Land of Twins” and enhancing its visibility through dedicated media infrastructure.
