The Banish Hunger Nigeria Humanitarian Initiative has reaffirmed its commitment to combating hunger and poverty with a grand relaunch in Ibadan, delivering food assistance and financial support to those in need.

Founded by Hajia Noimot Omolara Olayiwola, a distinguished communication expert and humanitarian based in Qatar, Banish Hunger Nigeria was originally launched on July 26, 2021, with a vision to eradicate hunger and empower vulnerable communities.
The relaunch event aimed to reignite public interest, attract donors, re-engage volunteers, and strengthen efforts to support economically disadvantaged Nigerians.

Hajia Noimot said with a renewed drive and strengthened support system, Banish Hunger Nigeria Humanitarian Initiative is poised to make an even greater impact in the fight against hunger across Nigeria.

According to her, as the initiative continues to expand its reach, there is the need to encourage more volunteers, donors, and stakeholders to join the movement to combat hunger in our land.

The event was attended by esteemed guests including Hon. Bisi Oluranti Oyewo-Michael (BOOM) of Ogbomoso North State Constituency, Hon. Dr. Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi-Olajide JP of Ibadan North Constituency 1, and former Minister for Communication, Barr. Abdulraheem Adebayo Shittu.
Hon. Boom and Hon. Comforter commended Hajia Noimot for her tireless efforts in humanitarian work, applauding her dedication to uplifting communities, and described the initiative as a noble cause deserving of support from individuals, government agencies, and corporate organizations.

They further assured that the Oyo State House of Assembly would explore avenues to extend its support to the Banish Hunger Nigeria Humanitarian Initiative, recognizing its vital role in addressing food insecurity and humanitarian needs.
At the relaunch, five individuals received empowerment grants of ₦200,000 each, providing crucial support for their businesses and economic stability.
Additionally, several other beneficiaries received financial assistance, helping them overcome economic hardships and invest in their futures while all those in attendance received essential raw food packages.
This distribution is part of the initiative’s ongoing mission to ensure food security for struggling households.
Highlighting the significance of humanitarian efforts, Alhaji Oyetunji Oyekunle, Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker, who delivered a lecture on the virtues of charity reinforced the need for individuals and organizations to contribute to the well-being of their communities through generosity and collective action.
” Charity Alleviates Suffering as it helps to bridge the gap, ensuring that no human suffers alone or in silence. Charity purifies w
ealth, preventing greed and selfishness. When we share what Allah has blessed us with, we receive even greater rewards in both this life and the hereafter. Charity Builds a Harmonious Society because a society that embraces generosity and compassion becomes stronger, more united, and free from hatred and inequality. It fosters peace and cooperation, making the world a better place. And finally, charity grants protection from calamities. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said : “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi)
Beyond her humanitarian work, Hajia Noimot is a key figure in charitable organizations in Nigeria and Qatar and owns Naija Restaurant in Qatar, a business that celebrates Nigerian culture and cuisine.
