The alarming rise in insecurity across the Yoruba land has once again manifested in the unfortunate abduction of Prince Ajibade Ojajuni, a key youth leader of Afenifere, and a vocal advocate for Yoruba unity and progress.

This distressing incident is yet another grim reminder of the deepening crisis of kidnappings, banditry, and unchecked violence that continues to plague our people.

As the Grand Patron of Agbekoya and the President-General of the Alliance of Yoruba Youth Council Worldwide (AYYCW), I call upon all Yoruba sons and daughters, traditional rulers, and political leaders to rise to the occasion and demand immediate action.

The abduction of Prince Ojajuni is not just an attack on one individual, but a direct assault on the collective will of the Yoruba people. His commitment to the protection and progress of our land is evident in his years of activism and service. The fact that he has now fallen victim to the very insecurity he has fought against is deeply unsettling.

We at the Agbekoya and AYYCW strongly condemn this act of terror and demand that the Federal Government, the South-West Governors, and the security agencies act swiftly to secure his release. The silence of leadership in such critical times only emboldens criminal elements who continue to torment innocent citizens.

We cannot afford to sit idly while our best minds and courageous voices are silenced through fear and intimidation.

We are mobilizing all Yoruba socio-political groups, youth organizations, and traditional rulers to take a firm stand against these growing threats.

Security in the South-West is a collective responsibility, and we must unite to ensure that our land does not descend into lawlessness. I call upon Afenifere, OPC, Agbekoya, and other pro-Yoruba organizations to come together and map out a strategic approach to protecting our people.

Furthermore, we urge all state governors in the South-West to immediately reinforce Amotekun and other community security initiatives to provide greater protection for citizens. The Yoruba people are known for their resilience, but we cannot continue to suffer these incessant attacks without a decisive response. We can no longer tolerate a situation where our leaders, youth, and elders live in constant fear of kidnappers and criminals. We demand that the security agencies act decisively and bring those responsible for this abduction to justice. Let this be a wake-up call to all Yoruba sons and daughters—our security and future lie in our hands, and we must act now before it is too late.

We stand in solidarity with the family of Prince Ajibade Ojajuni and assure them that we will not rest until he is safely returned home.

May the spirit of our forefathers guide and protect us all.

Dr. Akande Kazeem Babatunde
Grand Patron, Agbekoya
President-General, Alliance of Yoruba Youth Council Worldwide (AYYCW)
