Breaking News: PDP National Secretariat Attacked, Staff and Journalists Assaulted, Allegedly by Senator Samuel Anyanwu’s Thugs.

ABUJA, Nigeria.

This afternoon, armed thugs mobilized by one Emmanuel Okoronkwo, a staff of the Party loyal to the suspended National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, violently invaded the PDP National Secretariat at Wuse Zone 5, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

This barbaric assault, resulted in the brutalization of party staff and journalists, widespread intimidation, and damage to party properties and personal belongings of staffers.

Eyewitnesses and live video footage from the scene depict over 50 assailants, chanting provocative slogans in support of Senator Samuel Anyanwu and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, storming the premises.

The thugs breached security barriers, vandalized office equipment, and launched unprovoked physical attacks on administrative staff, leaving at least five PDP employees with serious injuries requiring medical attention.

Journalists from reputable outlets, were also targeted in a bid to silence coverage: reporters were shoved to the ground, threatened with grievous harm, and had cameras and recording devices forcibly confiscated or destroyed.

This outrage comes hours after Senator Anyanwu’s one-month suspension, was announced on November 1, 2025, by the legitimate NWC under the National Chairman Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum.

The suspensions of Anyanwu, National Organizing Secretary Hon. Umar Bature, National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), and Deputy National Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha were enacted pursuant to Sections 58 and 59 of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) for gross anti-party conduct, insubordination, and efforts to undermine party unity.

In a retaliatory farce, Anyanwu’s group convened an illegitimate parallel meeting, purporting to suspend Damagum, Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja, National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, and others, while installing National Vice-Chairman (North-Central) Mohammed Abdulrahman as acting chairman—a move the PDP deems null and void.

Senator Anyanwu’s desperation to cling to power has crossed into criminal territory, endangering lives and eroding the trust of millions of members of the PDP.
