APM Candidate, Akinsete Lights Up Moor Plantation Colleges in Ibadan

In a move that has been described as timely and people-oriented, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Ibadan South-West Constituency II, Hon. Olakunle Akinsete, has illuminated the Federal College of Agriculture (FCA) and the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Moor Plantation, Ibadan.

The solar-powered streetlight project, which now lights up major walkways, dark spots and strategic areas within the two federal institutions, was facilitated by Hon. Akinsete as part of his commitment to improving security and enhancing learning conditions for students.

Speaking during the brief inspection of the project, Hon. Akinsete said the initiative was borne out of the need to address the security challenges faced by students, especially at night, and to support educational institutions within his constituency.

He noted that students and staff of both colleges had endured darkness for years, which posed serious security risks, and that providing light was a basic responsibility that should not be ignored.

“I believe that quality representation is about solving real problems that affect our people directly. Our students deserve a safe and conducive environment to study. Lighting up Moor Plantation is a small step towards restoring confidence and security in our institutions,” he said.

Students and management of the two colleges expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as the first of its kind by any political aspirant in recent times.

According to some students, the lights have not only improved visibility at night but have also helped to curb cases of theft and other security concerns within the campuses.

Residents and stakeholders in Ibadan South-West have lauded the APM candidate, saying his action demonstrates purposeful leadership and a clear understanding of community needs, even before getting to office.

Hon. Akinsete assured constituents that more people-focused projects are in the pipeline, reaffirming his commitment to infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and quality representation if elected.
