Members of the Akuru family of Agbeni, Ibadan, have paid a solidarity visit to their son, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, commending his record in public office and expressing support for his aspiration to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate.
The family members, comprising strategic family heads and representatives of the Olajide family, visited the lawmaker to identify with him and encourage him as he prepares for the 2027 general election.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for Odidiomo to give an account of his years of public service and formally present his senatorial aspiration to members of his extended family.
Welcoming the family, Odidiomo thanked them for the visit and for the confidence they had expressed in him. He described his seven years in public service as an eventful period during which he had the opportunity to positively impact lives and contribute to community development.

According to him, service to the people has remained the guiding principle of his political career.
“In the last seven years, we have been able to impact lives positively. To the best of my ability, I have served diligently and I have not disappointed.”
Odidiomo explained that he views political office as a responsibility and an opportunity to serve rather than merely a pursuit of personal ambition.
He noted that his experience in the House of Representatives had enabled him to engage directly with constituents and facilitate interventions in critical areas, including education, technology, youth empowerment and community development.
The lawmaker also formally informed the family of his transition to the next phase of his political career, revealing that his party, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), had given him the mandate to contest for the Senate in Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.
“I am also glad to formally inform you that, to the glory of God, I have been given the mandate to proceed to a higher office.
“My political party, the Allied Peoples’ Movement, has given me the mandate to run for the Senate of Oyo South Senatorial District.”
Speaking on behalf of the family, Alhaji Muda Olajide commended Odidiomo for what the family described as his commitment to public service and his positive representation of the family in public life.
The family members said Odidiomo’s years in public office had brought pride to the family, describing him as a “true son of the family” who had remained conscious of his roots despite his growing political responsibilities.
They further commended him for understanding the responsibilities attached to representing the people, stressing that the family was particularly proud of his record.
“You have been a good ambassador of this family. You are a true son of the family. You have represented us well and you have not disappointed us.”
The family said the visit was not merely ceremonial but an expression of solidarity with one of their own as he seeks to transition from the House of Representatives to the Senate.
They pledged their continued support for Odidiomo and his senatorial aspiration, while urging him to remain committed to the values of service, humility and dedication to his people.
