In a remarkable display of generosity and commitment to the Islamic community in Oyo State, Fakhar Soliheen, Dr. (Al Imam) Al Mudeer Al Khaleefa Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK) has announced his sponsorship and to be part of the monumental Agbotomokekere Mosque and Foundation. The announcement was made at the 2024 Maolid Nabiyy and Award Presentation, held at the Central Mosque in Oja’ba, Ibadan, on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

The event, which brought together prominent Islamic scholars, leaders, and community members, featured the unveiling of the proposed design for the Agbotomokekere Mosque, alongside the launch of the Al-Imam Agbotomokekere Foundation. The foundation is set to provide a broad range of services, including educational programs, healthcare initiatives, and community development projects, aimed at enhancing the socio-economic welfare of the people in Oyo State.

In a lecture by the Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, titled “Perseverance”, Fadilat Sheik Toliat Yunus Ayilara highlighted the significance of enduring faith, unity, and dedication in overcoming challenges and fostering collective growth.

He noted that the Agbotomokekere Mosque, once completed, would serve not only as a place of worship but also as a beacon for educational and social empowerment. “This mosque and the foundation are about more than just religion; they are about building a sustainable future for our children and ensuring that the teachings of Islam guide us in all aspects of life,” he said. “Perseverance, as the theme of today’s lecture reminds us, is key to realizing this dream.”

Fakhar Soliheen, a respected philanthropist and religious leader in Oyo State, confirmed his contribution and donated handsomely to the mosque and foundation project through his representations of Hon Ademola Adeeyo and the Aseyori Team. He expressed his deep belief in the power of giving back to society and the importance of investing in religious institutions that foster unity, education, and development.

The Agbotomokekere Mosque is designed to be a monumental structure that blends modern architecture with traditional Islamic design. It will feature prayer halls, an Islamic library, community spaces, and facilities for educational programs, including Quranic studies, Islamic history, and vocational training for youths replicating same of; Adewale Kolapo Kareem mosque, school and foundation situated in Oluwo, Egbeda Local government.

In addition to the mosque, the Al-Imam Agbotomokekere Foundation will focus on educational scholarships, healthcare support, and other social welfare projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the less privileged in Oyo State.

Dr. Kolapo Kareem emphasized that the foundation would serve as a platform for nurturing the next generation of Islamic scholars, community leaders, and professionals who will play a pivotal role in the development of the state.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including religious leaders, local government officials, and well-wishers from across Oyo State. Many in the audience expressed their excitement and support for the project, recognizing its potential to transform the local community.

The ongoing support from Fakhar Soliheen, coupled with the leadership of Dr. Kolapo Kareem, has sparked widespread enthusiasm about the future impact of the Agbotomokekere Mosque and Foundation.

The event concluded with a special award presentation to individuals who have shown outstanding service to the community, further underscoring the theme of perseverance and dedication to public goods.
