Agboworin’s Contributions To Islam Commendable’ — Muslim Forum Honours Lawmaker

A prominent Muslim group in Ibadan, Youth Forum of Asa, on Saturday, presented an Award to the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency in the National Assembly, Rep Abass Adigun (Agboworin), for his contributions to the propagation of Islam in Ibadan through selfless services to humanity.

The award was presented to him by Sheikh Abdulbasit Kitibi, on behalf of the Youth Forum of Asa Compound, during its 4th Ramadan Lecture hosted by the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran at the Liberty stadium, Ibadan.

While commending Agboworin for his philanthropic activities within Ibadan and outside Oyo State, the cleric urged him to consider the recognition as a call to greater service in the cause of Allah.

He equally charged the lawmaker to continue to represent the people with the fear of God and as a means of advancing humanity.

“Hon. Agboworin, I want to congratulate you today because you merit this award. We have been hearing about all the things you are doing in and outside your constituency. We pray that God will continue to embrace you to do more.

“So, please see this award of honour as a clarion call to continue doing more for your constituency, the Islam community and Oyo State at large,” he stated.

The event, graced by religious scholars, prominent government officials, and community members, focused on the theme, “Conscience,” and served as a platform for reflection and spiritual enlightenment.

At the event were President-general, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Barr. Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole; Chairman, Solutions FM, Chief Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke.

Other guests at the event were the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Com. Demola Babalola; Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Com. Raji Oladimeji; Secretary, People’s Democratic Party, Oyo State, Wasiu Adeleke; Chief Olakunle Sheu among others.
