Agboworin Congratulates PDP Candidate, DON, On By-Election Victory, Lauds Makinde’s Support

Lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has congratulated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, DON, on his victory in the Saturday’s by-election.

According to the official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, Hon. Oyekunle secured 18,404 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Hon. Adewale Olatunji, widely known as Murphy, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 8,312 votes.

In a statement by his Media Group, Agboworin noted that the PDP’s victory with wide margin marks a significant milestone for the party, which truly reflects Oyo State as a PDP state.

The two-term lawmaker and the Chairman of House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, commended the governor of the state and his Principal, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE, for his total support, exceptional leadership skills and campaign strategy, which resonated with the electorate and ultimately led to victory.

Agboworin also commended the PDP supporters and leaders who worked tirelessly to ensure the party’s victory.

The statement read, “I heartily congratulate our party’s candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, on his victory in the by-election.

“This win is a testament to his popularity and the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of Ibadan North federal constituency, thereby reflecting Oyo State as a core PDP State.

“Let me also commend our number one leader in the party and the state, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his massive support, leadership skills and campaign strategy, which he employed right from the selection process and now leading to the Candidate’s victory at the poll.

“I equally appreciate the efforts of our party leaders, supporters, and the entire PDP family for their dedication and hard work. Your efforts paid off, and we celebrate this victory together.

“I have no doubt that DON will make a great representative, and I pledge my support to him as he takes on this new responsibility.”
