The lawmaker representing Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has congratulated the Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Chief Dotun Jubril Sanusi, on his appointment as President of Club Deportivo Atlético Berja, following the successful acquisition of Interlink by Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort (Hospitality) Limited.

In a congratulatory message made available to journalists on Wednesday by his Media Group in Ibadan, Agboworin described Chief Sanusi’s emergence as President of the Spanish club as a landmark achievement that underscores the growing global relevance of Nigerian entrepreneurship, vision, and leadership in international sports development.
According to Agboworin, the assumption of full ownership and control of Atlético Berja by Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort marks a historic milestone, not only for the company but also for Nigeria’s expanding footprint in global sports, hospitality, and community-focused investments.

He commended Sanusi for what he described as a bold, strategic, and forward-looking investment that reflects a deep commitment to sports development, youth empowerment, and international collaboration.

Agboworin noted that the reconstitution of the club’s Board of Directors under Sanusi’s leadership signals a new era of professionalism, stability, and growth for Atlético Berja.
Agboworin said, “I can say that Mr. Dotun Sanusi has once again demonstrated that Nigerians can compete, lead, and excel on the global stage.

“His appointment as President of Atlético Berja is a source of pride to Oyo State, Nigeria, and indeed Africa.

“This achievement speaks volumes about his vision, discipline, and unwavering belief in the power of sports as a tool for development and unity.”
The federal lawmaker expressed confidence that under Sanusi’s presidency, Atlético Berja would witness renewed sporting excellence, improved youth development structures, and stronger ties with the host community in Andalusia, Spain.
