The Youth Stakeholders of Agbokojo have debunked the statement credited to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Sarafadeen Alli over the recent crisis in Agbokojo, describing it as far from the truth and a deliberate attempt to politicize a communal issue.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Youth Leader, Comrade Kabiru Ishola, the youths said the incident in Agbokojo was a communal clash between two groups and not a political matter as being portrayed by the APC.
According to the statement, “You are far from the truth. What happened in Agbokojo is a communal clash between two groups. It has nothing to do with politics. We are surprised that the APC and Senator Sarafa Alli will turn every issue in Oyo State to politics.”
The youth stakeholders voided in its entirety the statement issued by the APC and Senator Alli, accusing them of spreading falsehood and trying to score cheap political points from the unfortunate incident.

Kabiru Ishola noted that the victim in question was from an APM family where his brother and mother are card-carrying members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), but they were surprised with the wrong narratives being pushed by Senator Sarafa Alli.
“I think they usually say ‘Agba Ki Wa Loja’ – an elder should not be found in the market place telling lies. APC in Oyo State and in Nigeria have made people poorer and now they are throwing money around to sway or buy people’s minds for another 4 years,” he said.
“We Agbokojo Youths are apolitical. We shall uphold our community and no amount of inducement will make us act irrational,” Ishola declared.
He added, “We ask the party to stop telling lies and turning every issue in the state to politics. Agbokojo needs peace, not political propaganda.”
Kabiru Ishola further called on security agencies and the Oyo State Government to ignore the political narrative being introduced and focus on the real issues with a view to restoring lasting peace between the warring groups.
He commended the prompt intervention of Ibadan South West Government and security operatives in restoring normalcy to the area, while urging residents to remain calm and shun rumour mongering.
