The Turaki Adini of Oyo state and Wakil faido Tijaniya of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, Engr Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem Mogaji Adanla has expressed hearty felicitations with His Royal Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi CFR, on his reinstatement as the Emir of Kano Emirate Council by the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Abba Yusuf.

Mogaji Adanla, a close associate of the reappointed Emir, said in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday that the instance of Emir Sanusi’s dismissal and subsequent reinstatement is unmistakable evidence that justice will ultimately triumph no matter how long it is repressed.

He added that the reinstatement should serve as a lesson to all authorities who enact arbitrary law that they want to use as a large stick to silence critics.

According to Adanla, How can we expect someone with His Royal Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s background, as a master economist and a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, to remain silent about current issues such as the state of the Nigerian economy?

“In fact, he owes the country the patriotic responsibility to speak up when something goes wrong or when something endangers the peace, unity, and progress of the country.

The Turaki Adini urged other Nigerian emirs and traditional chiefs to avoid focusing solely on local matters in their traditional councils and to always feel free to contribute their fair share to current national challenges.

The statement read: “This is not only a thing of joy to Khalifa Mohammed Sanusi Lamido Sanusi only but to all Tijaniya members around the world.

“The recent developments in the Emir Sanusi case are extremely beneficial to our democracy since they have further demonstrated that anti-people laws passed by one parliament can be overturned by another.

“While we call on other traditional leaders to follow in Sanusi’s footsteps and support national initiatives that would advance Nigeria, we also ask Allah Ta’ala, the only one with the authority to bestow upon Sanusi the “wisdom and good health” necessary to guide his people towards prosperity and peace.”.
