Hon. Ajibola Appreciates Makinde For Opportunity To Serve Iseyin People
….. Says His Administration Built 40 Lock-up Shops, Gives 500 Youths Benefit From Vocational Skill
The former Chairman, Iseyin South Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ajibola Raheem has appreciated the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of the community and provide democratic dividends that is enduring.
He said this at a special event where he gave account of stewardship of his administration on Thursday at the Aseyin palace, Iseyin Oyo State.
Raheem said his political sojourn started since the year 2000, with the sole aim of impacting positively on his community, an opportunity which materialized when picked to oversee the affairs of the LCDA.
He emphasized his love to work on youths development programmes, which led to his ability to train over 500 male and female youths from the LCDA on vocational training and skill acquisition, provide free JAMB classes to students and constructed motorized boreholes for the use of the people.
He added that his administration constructed forty lock-up shops at Oja-Agbe area of Iseyin, procured farm implements for farmers and rehabilitated the Yekete road at Ilado area.
“I appreciate Gov.seyi Makinde for the privilege to be part of his governance, this gave me the opportunity I have craved for long to serve my people.
“I started politics since 2000, When I entered office as the chairman I made it my priority to help the youths because if we continue to say they are the leaders of tomorrow, it should start now and we should do everything to make sure they should be the leaders of today.
“After I resumed office in December 2019, a lot happened especially during the covid 19 pandemic but we thank God that we overcame the period, after that I started with empowerment of small scale traders and aslo helped okada riders through their association, we have provided over 5000 youths with skill acquisition programmes and vocational training while students were given the free JAMB lesson to meet up with their mates in the cities in their academic activities.
“We constructed forty lock-up shops at Oja-Agbe area and rehabilitated the Yekete road at Ilado area among other areas we worked on,” he said.
Present at the even were representatives of youth organizations, traditional rulers, religious bodies and notable politicians.
