*LG Poll: Ibadan North PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Olufade, Lambasts APC as “Darkness Party,” Unworthy of Electorate Support*

In the lead-up to the fiercely contested local government election in Oyo state, the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Ibadan North local government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has lambasted the APC, branding it a “darkness party” unworthy of the electorate’s support.

During a charged segment on Fresh FM 105.9’s “Political Circuit,” hosted by seasoned journalist Mayor Isaac Brown, Olufade didn’t mince words, asserting that the people of Ibadan North would reject the APC’s candidacy come April 27.

His bold declaration echoed throughout the airwaves, setting the stage for a fiery exchange between him and the Ibadan North APC Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Adedayo Adeniyi.

The program, focused on the contrasting visions of the chairmanship candidates, saw Olufade and the APC’s Hon. Adedayo Adeniyi engaging in a spirited dialogue under the probing questions of Mayor Isaac Brown.

When asked about their motivations for seeking the executive chairmanship of Ibadan North, Adeniyi cited a desire to “change the narrative,” while Olufade emphasized the pivotal role of the locality in Oyo State’s development trajectory, pledging to elevate it to greater heights.

In response to queries regarding their immediate priorities upon assuming office, Olufade outlined ambitious plans for educational development and traffic decongestion, inspired by successful initiatives spearheaded by Governor Seyi Makinde.

Adeniyi, on the other hand, underscored empowerment programs for youth and women, coupled with a focus on primary education.

The tension peaked when Mayor Isaac Brown probed the candidates on why voters should reject their opponent. Adeniyi critiqued the PDP’s governance track record in the local government, while Olufade launched a scathing attack, denouncing the APC as a “darkness party” antithetical to progress and development.

Further inquiries delved into the candidates’ familiarity with local wards and strategies for revenue generation, waste management, and healthcare.

Olufade’s comprehensive responses highlighted meticulous planning, whereas Adeniyi emphasized collaboration with the state government to bolster revenue streams and address critical issues.

In a pivotal moment, co-panelist Ademola Babalola scrutinized the candidates on their plans for primary education and youth engagement. Olufade detailed initiatives to improve primary schools and empower youth, emphasizing the importance of targeted interventions tailored to their needs. He stressed that the practice of giving a barber a motorcycle, for instance, would be discontinued, ensuring that qualified individuals are placed in appropriate roles.

As the program neared its conclusion, the candidates faced a final challenge: to question each other directly. Olufade probed Adeniyi’s campaign strategy, expressing surprise at not encountering him or hearing his name before.

With contrasting visions and promises vying for voter allegiance, the stage is set for a decisive showdown in Ibadan North, where the ballot box will ultimately determine the path forward for the locality and its residents.

Those who accompanied Olufade to the program were his vice, Akeem Ayoade; campaign DG, Falana Adebowale; former Aare Latosa LCDA caretaker chairman, Hon. Kazeem Oshoniyi; Hon. Abiodun Agboluaje; Hon. Joshua Oladapo; Mighty; Hamdy Mustapha; Mbappe; Ayo Elemo; Aderibigbe Yisahu; Mariam Oni; A.Y.; and others.
