2027 Poll: ‘Our Best Interest Lies in Continuity of Makinde’s Good Governance’ ~ Teachers Affirmed in Lagelu LGA

No fewer than one thousand teachers in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State have declared open support for Governor Seyi Makinde and candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The educators made the declaration during a formal meeting with the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen. The gathering brought together newly recruited teachers, leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), labour union representatives, local government executives and other stakeholders from across the council.

Speaking at the meeting, the teachers stated that their best interest lies in the continuity of the good governance being championed by Governor Makinde. They cited the state government’s teacher-friendly policies, including adequate and fair employment of teachers, timely payment of salaries and wages, as well as several bonus pay awards.

The local educators unanimously affirmed that the continuation of the current administration’s approach to education and workers’ welfare remains in the best interest of teachers across the state. Consequently, they declared open support for Governor Seyi Makinde and all other APM candidates in the forthcoming polls.

The well-attended meeting reflected broad consensus among educators in Lagelu LGA on the positive impact of the Makinde-led government’s interventions in the education sector.
