The atmosphere in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, was nothing short of electric on Saturday as what was billed as a simple town hall meeting transformed into a vibrant celebration and massive gathering of devoted party members and supporters.
The North East Town Hall Meeting of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with party faithful, youth groups, women leaders and stakeholders from across the six states of the North East trooping out in large numbers.
The energy in the hall was incredible as the crowd erupted in chants and songs upon the arrival of the APM Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his running mate, His Excellency, Alhaji Lawal Musa Daura.
From Borno to Bauchi, Taraba to Gombe, Yobe to Adamawa, supporters adorned in APM colours described the Makinde/Daura ticket as the most balanced, competent and credible combination in the race for 2027.

The town hall, which was initially designed to be an interactive session, quickly turned into a carnival of sorts, as supporters took turns to express confidence in the capacity of the duo to reset Nigeria and provide purposeful leadership.
Addressing the gathering, Engr. Seyi Makinde thanked the people of the North East for their overwhelming love and support, assuring them that the region will occupy a pride of place in his administration’s agenda for national renewal.
He noted that the massive turnout in Yola is a clear testament that Nigerians are yearning for genuine change and are ready to embrace a leadership that prioritizes human capital, security, infrastructure and economic prosperity.
Also speaking, his running mate, Alhaji Lawal Musa Daura, who is a son of the region, said the North East has spoken with one voice, stressing that the era of being used for votes without corresponding development is over.
Daura assured the people that an APM government under Makinde will address the security challenges, revive agriculture, empower youths and women, and rebuild the North East.
Political observers say the electrifying reception in Yola has further reinforced the growing momentum of the APM across the northern region ahead of the 2027 general elections.
