Oyo NYSC Board Chair, Adegoke Commends Gov. Makinde Over Safe Return of Abducted Corps Members

The Chairperson of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Board in Oyo State and Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the NYSC Oyo State Chapter, the student community and parents on the successful return of corps members abducted in Imo State.

Hon. Adegoke, in a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday, expressed relief and joy over the safe rescue and return of the corps members, describing the news as heartwarming and a testament to responsive governance.

She commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his swift intervention and fatherly role in ensuring that Oyo State indigenes in distress are never abandoned, noting that his commitment to the welfare and security of youths remains exemplary. She also commended the cooperation and effort of Imo State Goverment.

According to her, the Governor’s prompt action and collaboration with Imo State Government, relevant security agencies and the NYSC authorities demonstrated true leadership and compassion.

The Commissioner also lauded the management of the NYSC Oyo State Chapter for their professionalism, constant communication with families, and coordination throughout the challenging period.

“I rejoice with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, the NYSC family in Oyo State, the entire student community, and most especially the parents of our dear corps members on their safe return. This is a huge relief for all of us. The trauma they went through is unimaginable, but we thank God for preserving their lives,” she said.

Hon. Adegoke further sympathized with the affected corps members and assured them of the State Government’s continued support in their rehabilitation and reintegration, while praying for their quick recovery from the ordeal.

She reiterated the Oyo State Government’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of all corps members serving in the state and beyond, and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure the safety of all Nigerians.

The Commissioner urged corps members to remain steadfast and not be discouraged by the unfortunate incident, assuring them that Oyo State remains committed to youth development and protection.
