Hon. Akinola Olumide, popularly known as Olumba, a former Special Assistant to Hon. Remi Oseni, has explained why he left Oseni and subsequently aligned with the governorship campaign of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi.
Speaking on his decision, Olumba said he left Hon. Remi Oseni because of what he described as concerns about Oseni’s character and performance in representing his constituency.
According to him, he was also owed four months’ salary during his time working with Oseni. Olumba alleged that he and other loyalists were paid ₦30,000 monthly, while, in his view, resources were sometimes spent on people outside the immediate political structure.
«“I left Remi Oseni because of his character and low performance in serving his constituency,” Olumba said.»

He further alleged that despite his loyalty and service, he was frustrated by the situation and the outstanding salaries.
Explaining why he decided to support Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, Olumba said his decision was influenced by Adekanmbi’s character and personal qualities.
“I followed Adekanmbi because of his good character. Many people want him. He is very brilliant, calm and intelligent,” he said.
Olumba added that his movement to Adekanmbi’s political camp was based on his personal assessment of the two political figures and his desire to associate with a leader whose character and approach to people align with his expectations.
