A former Councillor representing Ward 8 in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, Chief Adeyemo Abass, popularly known as Adebass, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Chief Adeyemo announced his resignation in a letter dated September 10, 2026, which was made available to journalists in Ibadan.
In the letter, the former council legislator attributed his decision to leave the party to personal conviction and prevailing political realities.
According to him, after careful reflection and consultations, he considered it necessary to take a bow from the APC at this time.

He, however, expressed profound gratitude to his numerous supporters, loyalists and political associates for their unwavering commitment, dedication and support throughout his political journey within the party.
Adebass noted that their solidarity and encouragement had remained a source of strength to him over the years.
He appreciated them for standing by him and expressed confidence that the relationships and bonds established over the years would remain valuable beyond his membership of the APC.
The former councillor did not disclose his next political destination in the resignation letter, leaving his supporters and political observers to await his next move.
