Oluyole APM Denies Expulsion of Members, Urges Public to Disregard False Claims

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Oluyole Local Government chapter, has dismissed reports claiming that some of its members have been expelled from the party, describing the reports as false and misleading.

As confirmed by Westerndailies, Hon. Nasir Hamzat and Mrs. Folasade Idowu, who identified themselves as the Oluyole Local Government Chairman and Secretary of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), respectively, issued a communiqué yesterday announcing the expulsion of five party members.

Those affected include Mr. Bolarinwa Olubodun and Mrs. Alimot Makinde, both from Ward 02, as well as Mr. Mustapha Kazeem, Mr. Fatai Akano and Mr. Remi Bakare, all from Ward 07.

According to the communiqué issued by Nasir Hamzat and Mrs. Folasade Idowu, the decision followed the submission and consideration of a report by the party’s Disciplinary Committee, which investigated allegations levelled against the five members.

In a communiqué signed by the duly elected and recognised Oluyole APM local government chairman, Balogun Rasak; Secretary, Emiola Yemi Adegoke and other executive members, the party said no member had been expelled by the recognised executive of the party in the local government.

According to the communiqué, the Oluyole APM executive had neither constituted a disciplinary committee nor received any recommendation for the expulsion of any member under the leadership of Balogun Rasak.

The party specifically stated that Mr. Bolarinwa Olubodun and Mrs. Alimot Makinde of Ward 02, as well as Mr. Mustapha Kazeem, Mr. Fatai Akano and Mr. Remi Bakare of Ward 07, remain bona fide members of the APM.

The leadership therefore urged party members and members of the public to disregard any statement or communiqué claiming that the five individuals had been expelled, insisting that such communication did not emanate from the recognised Oluyole Local Government executive of the party.

The communiqué further reaffirmed Balogun Rasak and Emiola Yemi Adegoke as the elected and recognised Chairman and Secretary of the APM in Oluyole Local Government respectively.

The party also warned against what it described as alleged impersonation, asking the public to disregard communications purportedly issued by Mr. Nasir Hamzat and Mrs. Folasade Idowu, who, according to the communiqué, had been presenting themselves as Chairman and Secretary of the Oluyole APM executive.

The party said the appropriate security agencies had been notified of the alleged impersonation and that necessary steps were being taken.

The Oluyole APM leadership expressed concern that the alleged activities of individuals said to belong to a coalition group that had pledged to work with the party could create confusion, undermine party unity and affect the party’s collective efforts ahead of forthcoming elections.

It consequently warned individuals or groups allegedly impersonating the recognised party executives to desist from such activities, stressing that it would not hesitate to pursue appropriate legal action against anyone found violating the law.

The party called on its members to remain calm, law-abiding and focused on strengthening the APM, while reaffirming its commitment to the unity, stability and progress of the party in Oluyole Local Government.

It also urged members to work together for the growth and success of the party and to reject information capable of creating division among its ranks.
