*Wale Canada holds Ramadan lecture, Treats Constituents to Iftar, Commissions Community Mosque and Borehole in Memory of Late Alhaji Saminu Gbadamosi*
Oyo lawmaker, representing Atisbo and Saki East Constituency, Hon. Saminu Ridwan Gbadamosi, popularly known as Wale Canada, on Friday, organized his inaugural Ramadan lecture and Iftar session for constituents.
The event, held at Gbadamosi Avenue in Oke-Taasi, Sepeteri, was not only a spiritual gathering but also a platform for community development initiatives.
One of the highlights of the occasion was the commissioning of a Mosque and Borehole, both dedicated to the memory of his late father, Alhaji Saminu Gbadamosi.
This gesture of remembrance and service to the community reflects Wale Canada’s commitment to honoring his father’s legacy while also meeting the essential needs of the people he represents in the ATISBO & Saki East State Constituency.
The Ramadan lecture and Iftar session were designed to foster a sense of unity, love, and familial bonds among the constituents. It provided an opportunity for Muslims to come together during this auspicious month, seeking forgiveness, showing compassion, and strengthening their connection with Allah (swt).
As part of the program, a distinguished guest lecturer, Fadeela Sheikh Alhaji Abdur-Rofeen Jamiu Oloko Badru Samon Atewogba, delivered a thought-provoking discourse on the significance of Ramadan in the lives of Muslims.
Emphasizing the importance of self-reflection, repentance, and spiritual growth, the guest lecturer inspired the audience to make the most of this blessed month and strive for continuous improvement in their faith and character.
Moreover, the Chief Host of the event, Fadeelat Sheikh Alhaji Engr. Abdul Hakeem Demola Raji, the Chief Imam of Sepeteri land, who graced the occasion with his presence, further enhanced the spiritual ambiance and community solidarity.
Wale Canada, in his address to the gathering, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve his constituents and commemorate his father’s memory through meaningful contributions to the community.
He reiterated the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, highlighting the concept of Sadaqah Al Jariyah (continuous charity) and the enduring impact of good deeds that benefit others, even after one’s passing.
“The commissioning of the Mosque and Borehole not only symbolizes a physical presence in the community but also represents a lasting legacy of benevolence and service, echoing the values upheld by Alhaji Saminu Gbadamosi during his lifetime.
“I will continue with the Ramadan lecture and Iftar session and I pray God spare our lives for more fruitful years,” he added.
