IBSWLG: Hon. Iyanda Kabiru Abayomi Lights Up Ward 09 with 20 Solar Street Lights, Declares Second-Term Councillorship Bid …praised Akande for good governance and transparent leadership.

Residents of Ward 09 in Ibadan South West Local Government (IBSWLG) have commended the Councillor representing the ward, Hon. Iyanda Kabiru Abayomi (Top T), following the installation of 20 solar-powered street lights across strategic communities as part of his commitment to grassroots development and improved public safety.

The solar street lights were installed in key locations including Sanda Street 1 & 2, Adejinle, Ayankoya, Ayegusi, Ososami, Idi-Ope, Ratibi in Molete, and Lemmy Area, Challenge, providing better illumination and enhancing security for residents.

In addition to the infrastructure project, Hon. Iyanda donated ₦5,000 each to 15 members of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Ward 09 and also provided ₦30,000 as transportation support to other party members. He assured members that the empowerment initiative would be extended to cover more party faithful across the ward.

Speaking on behalf of the Ratibi community, the Secretary, Mr. Oje, expressed appreciation to the councillor for facilitating the project, describing it as the first visible dividend of democracy enjoyed by the community. He pledged the community’s unwavering support for all APM candidates in future elections.

At Sanda Street, Mrs. Justina praised the initiative, noting that the solar lights would have a more lasting impact on the community than the distribution of food items. Similarly, at Ayegusi, Mrs. Okafor, alongside members of the Auto Mechanics Association, commended the project and pledged their support for APM candidates.

In his remarks, Hon. Iyanda Kabiru Abayomi thanked Governor Seyi Makinde, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, and the Vice Chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Adigun (Atu), for facilitating the initial provision of 10 solar street lights to Ward 09.

He disclosed that he personally funded an additional 10 solar street lights, bringing the total to 20, and promised to install more in the future to further improve the ward.

Hon. Iyanda also officially declared his intention to seek re-election as Councillor for Ward 09, unveiling his second-term campaign with the slogan “God’s Choice 2.0.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more developmental projects and quality representation for the people of Ward 09.
