The Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Alh. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has been conferred with the prestigious Nigerian Local Government Excellence Award (LOGEXA) 2026 in recognition of his exceptional commitment to good governance and people-centered development at the grassroots.
The award, which celebrates outstanding leadership and impactful service delivery among Nigeria’s 774 local government chairmen, underscores Kamorudeen’s remarkable strides in transforming Lagelu through transparent administration, infrastructure renewal, and improved citizen welfare.
Since assuming office, the Lagelu helmsman has prioritized key sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and rural infrastructure. His administration has recorded notable achievements in road rehabilitation, water supply projects, enhanced primary healthcare delivery, and empowerment programmes for youths and women, setting a benchmark for effective local governance in Oyo history.
Reacting to the award, Chairman Kamorudeen dedicated the honour to the good people of Lagelu and the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, whose enabling environment made the achievements possible

“This award is not for me alone; it belongs to the resilient people of Lagelu who have continued to support and cooperate with this administration. We remain committed to delivering responsive, accountable, and result-oriented governance that touches the lives of our indigenes and residents at the grassroots,” he said.
The LOGEXA 2026 jury praised Kamorudeen for his “integrity, innovation, and measurable impact” in local government administration, describing him as a shining example of the kind of leadership Nigeria needs at the third tier of government.
This latest honor further affirms Chairman Kamorudeen’s growing reputation as one of outstanding council chairmen in the country.
