Mrs Makinde splashes gifts on people with special needs, motherless homes
In a bid to mitigate the present economic hardship on Children with special needs, the wife of Oyo state governor, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde has distributed food items and cash gifts to the Children with special needs homes in the state.
Mrs. Makinde, who was represented by the lawmaker representing Ibadan North one, who also doubles as the chairman house committee on women affairs and community development, Mrs Olufunke Olajide moved round the state and distributed the gift items to the beneficiaries.
While speaking to the newsmen, the representative of Mrs Makinde and house committee chairman on women affairs and community development, Mrs Olufunke Olajide said that the gesture extended to the children with special needs and the vulnerable showed that the state government is giving them hope to smile and for them to survive the current economic challenges confronting the country.

While reacting to the gesture extended to them by the wife of Oyo state governor, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde, one of the owners of the homes in the state, Mrs Osinyin Ibilola said that the food items given to them by the state would sustain the children during the current economic hardship.
While commemorating the International Day for Persons living with Down syndrome, she appealed to the government to sensitise the people to the need to stop the stigmatization of people living with the syndrome for them to have a sense of belonging.
