Oyo ADC Governorship Candidate Adegoke Visits Oyo, Pledges Full Local Government Autonomy

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke who is the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland has pledged to ensure full autonomy for local government councils if elected governor, describing the policy as a critical step toward accelerating grassroots development across the state.

Adegoke made the commitment while addressing party supporters and stakeholders, emphasizing that empowering local governments would bring governance closer to the people and improve the delivery of essential services at the community level.

According to the ADC flagbearer, local councils remain the closest tier of government to the grassroots and should be allowed to operate independently without undue interference.
