…seeks collaboration for Ogbomoso development
At his palace in Oja Igbo on Thursday, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye received in audience the Babalaje of Ogbomosoland, Engr Open Salawu, and the Chairmanship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in Ogbomoso North in the forthcoming 2024 Local Government election, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade.
Soun, whose coronation and presentation of Staff of Office are slated for December 19, 2023, equally received Rev. Dr Titiladetayo, the PDP party treasurer, Hon Sunday Bankole, Hon. Areo Grace, Mr Rasaq, as well as the PDP party Organizing secretary Hon. Bashiru.
Oba Ghandi was so ecstatic to receive Engr. Open Salawu, who doubles as the Executive Assistant on Project Monitoring to Governor Seyi Makinde, describing his visit as first since assuming the throne.
He said that he had been waiting for the Babalaje of Ogbomoso land to give him a courtesy call so that they can work together to expand the economy and alleviate poverty in Ogbomoso land.
He declared: “I am a businessman with multiple connections to make Ogbomoso great, in addition to being a pastor. So, i need everyone to alleviate poverty in my town.
“I am more concerned with how we can work with the rich people in this town to improve the welfare of my people through entrepreneurship.”
The monarch however called on all illustrious sons of the town to join hands together with him to develop the town particularly those who opposed him during the kingship process.
“I am not angry with anybody who were against me. I am extending my olive branch to you all. There is no Orumogege III except Ghandi, and there is a reason God created us and a reason to put Ghandi on his forefathers throne”.
In his remarks, the Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Open Salawu, expressed his admiration for Oba Ghandi’s words and stated that although he had long been wanting to meet with him.
He congratulated the Royal Highness and wished him a long reign on the throne, describing him as a ‘mercy to Ogbomosoland.
