Tension reportedly heightened in parts of Ibadan South-East Local Government Area as concerns emerged over allegations that APC governorship aspirant and former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, has been moving across wards in the local government area accompanied by suspected thugs during the ongoing APC governorship primary elections across the 351 wards of Oyo State.

Party leaders and stakeholders in the area have reportedly raised concerns over what they described as the intimidating presence of unidentified individuals allegedly accompanying the aspirant during his movement from ward to ward.
Some party members alleged that the presence of these individuals created fear and unease in parts of the local government, with concerns that such actions could undermine the peaceful conduct expected during the party’s internal electoral process.

The development has generated reactions among APC members in Ibadan South-East, with calls on party leadership and security agencies to closely monitor activities and ensure that the governorship primary elections are conducted peacefully and without intimidation.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official reaction from Chief Bayo Adelabu or his campaign team regarding the allegations. Likewise, APC leadership in Oyo State has yet to issue a formal statement on the matter.

Observers and party faithful have continued to urge all stakeholders to uphold peace, fairness, and internal democratic principles as the APC governorship primary elections continue across Oyo State.
