Engr Kolawole Sheu Adedeji Commends Makinde’s Courageous Stand for Democratic Integrity, Calls for Collective Defense of Nigeria’s Democracy

The consensus candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, has showered glowing commendations on Governor Seyi Makinde for his steadfast commitment to the preservation of democracy in Nigeria.

Reacting to the recently concluded National Summit of Opposition Political Party Leaders held in Ibadan, Engr. Adedeji, widely regarded as a fast-rising PDP starlet, described Governor Makinde as a courageous and principled leader whose voice has become a rallying point in the defense of democratic values.

According to him, Makinde’s bold stance against the creeping threat of a one-party state and his insistence on safeguarding democratic institutions reflect uncommon leadership defined by integrity and foresight.

“In Governor Makinde, we see a leader who understands that democracy is not just about winning elections, but about sustaining a system where fairness, accountability, and opposition thrive,” Adedeji stated. “His courage to speak at such a defining moment is not only commendable but deeply reassuring to Nigerians who still believe in the sanctity of democracy.”

He noted that the governor’s remarks at the summit resonate strongly with the aspirations of ordinary Nigerians who seek a system that guarantees free, fair, and credible elections, as well as inclusiveness in governance.

Engr. Adedeji also aligned himself with the broader position of opposition leaders who resolved to work towards presenting a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the move as a necessary step to restore balance and credibility to Nigeria’s political landscape.
