*OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF AMBITION FOR THE POSITION OF COUNCILLOR, WARD 08, IBADAN SOUTH-EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, OYO STATE*

“At the grassroots, leadership must be felt, not merely heard—it must translate promises into progress and presence into impact.”

With a clear sense of purpose and an abiding loyalty to the ideals of service, I, Hon. Kabir Adeyemo, hereby formally declare my intention to contest for the office of Councillor representing the good people of Ward 08, Ibadan South-East Local Government Area, in the forthcoming local government elections.

This declaration is not driven by personal ambition alone, but by a deep conviction that Ward 08 stands at a critical point where deliberate, people-focused, and politically responsible leadership is required to consolidate gains and open new pathways for development. Our ward is blessed with vibrant youths, industrious men and women, and elders whose wisdom must guide our collective journey. What is required now is leadership that can effectively connect these strengths to real opportunities.

Over time, I have remained consistent in my loyalty to the political structure and leadership within our constituency, believing strongly that stability within the system is essential for sustainable progress. Loyalty, in this regard, is not blind allegiance—it is a disciplined commitment to collective goals, party ideals, and the advancement of our people. This consistency has prepared me to represent Ward 08 with both competence and political maturity.

My aspiration is anchored on a pragmatic and result-oriented agenda built around three strategic priorities:

• EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PEOPLE

I will leverage the office of the councillor as a channel to attract and facilitate programmes that directly benefit our people—particularly in youth empowerment, vocational development, and access to basic social support. Governance at the ward level must be intentional in creating pathways for economic inclusion.

• STRENGTHENING POLITICAL AND SOCIAL UNITY

A divided ward cannot achieve meaningful progress. I am committed to fostering unity within our political family and across the entire community by promoting dialogue, inclusion, and mutual respect. My leadership will prioritize cohesion as a tool for both political stability and developmental advancement.

• DELIVERING PRACTICAL AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Ward 08 deserves visible and measurable progress. I will work closely with the Local Government authority to ensure that our ward is not left behind in the distribution of projects, infrastructure, and essential services. Beyond attracting development, I will advocate for maintenance, sustainability, and accountability in all initiatives.

I understand clearly that representation is a trust, not a title. It requires accessibility, responsiveness, and the courage to speak and act in the best interest of the people at all times. If given the mandate, I will serve as a dependable voice for Ward 08—one that listens, engages, and delivers.

As we approach the 2026 local government elections, I urge all stakeholders, party members, youths, and residents of Ward 08 to see this project as a collective responsibility. Together, we can strengthen our political relevance, deepen development, and secure a more prosperous future for our ward.
