The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ona-Ara Local Government, alongside key stakeholders, on Thursday reaffirmed that Hon. Wale Ajala remains the consensus candidate for Ona-Ara State Constituency ahead of the 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly election.

Among the leaders and stakeholders who made the reaffirmation were the PDP Chairman in Ona-Ara Local Government, Alhaji Kehinde Adeyemo; Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi; Immediate Past Party Chairman, Hon. Mosobalaje Bakare; Alhaji Waheed Adurodekun, Alhaji Bankole, Hon Sunbo Owolabi, Hon Nurudeen Akanni; and several other influential party stakeholders.
The leaders maintained that after a series of meetings, consultations, and thorough screening of all aspirants, Hon. Wale Ajala emerged as the most suitable and widely accepted choice to fly the party’s flag for the constituency.

According to the stakeholders, Hon. Wale Ajala’s proven track record as Governor Seyi Makinde’s Re-election Campaign Coordinator in Ona-Ara Local Government, his previous experience as a House of Assembly aspirant in 2019 and 2023, his deep grassroots connection, and his unwavering loyalty to the party all combined to make him the preferred candidate.

“He is the right man for the job. After various meetings, consultations, and screening of all the aspirants, Wale Ajala emerged as the chosen one among them. We therefore urge all other aspirants and party faithful to rally behind him as we continue the legacy of Governor Seyi Makinde in leading Oyo State into Omituntun 3.0,” the leaders stated.

The reaffirmation is seen as a major boost to party unity and electoral preparedness in Ona-Ara, with many supporters describing the decision as a strategic step toward consolidating the gains of the Makinde administration at the grassroots level.
